Dr. Richard Garman, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Richard Garman has been our medical director since November 1998. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with an added qualification in Geriatric Medicine.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Louisville in 1980, Dr. Garman completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Garman is a clinical instructor for the University of Tennessee and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Garman is an avid marathon runner and is also the Internist for the Nashville Predators NHL hockey team.


James Wright

James Wright has been a health care administrator since 1993 and has been the Health Care Administrator at The HealthCare Center at West Meade Place since 1998. He is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee. He has a degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Finance and Management Information Systems.

In addition to being a member of the Tennessee Health Care Association and the American Health Care Association, Mr. Wright has previously served as THCA's Independent Proprietary Council Vice-President for the association's Board of Directors and has served on various other committees with THCA over the past several years including Membership Services and Government Relations. He currently serves as a member of THCA's Quality & Regulatory Affairs Committee. This is a new committee that focuses on quality measures, systemic quality improvement in long term care facilities and best practice methods for sustained clinical excellence. In 2013, Mr. Wright was selected to receive the Richard T. Sadler Distinguished Association Service Award for his dedication & outstanding service to the association and its ongoing efforts to continuously improve quality in Tennessee's long term care facilities.

In June of 2010, Mr. Wright was appointed by the Governor of Tennessee to serve on the state's Health Services and Development Agency. The agency approves health care projects across the full spectrum of health care in the state working to assist in achieving the goals of the state's health plan in conjunction with health care providers. Mr. Wright serves as the representative for nursing homes on this agency until the expiration of his second term in 2016. He currently serves as the agency's Vice-Chairman.


Theresa Jarvis

Theresa Jarvis, R.N. has been the Director of Nursing since March 2011. Theresa received her nursing education from Union University and Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee. She is from the Millington/Memphis area.

Theresa has been a nurse since 1988 and in long term care since 1991. She has been successful in working in several different long-term care facilities both small and large and has a vast knowledge of clinical information as well as regulatory and operational experience.

Theresa's focus has always been on the resident and to continually work on systems that enhance the care that is given to the residents. She brings with her many new ideas and embraces the challenges and opportunities that West Meade Place has to offer.
