James Wright
James Wright has been a health care administrator since 1993 and has been the Administrator at West Meade Place since 1998. He is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee. He has a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Management Information Systems.
He is a member of the Tennessee Health Care Association and the American Health Care Association. Mr. Wright has previously served in several capacities for THCA which include Independent Proprietary Council Vice-President and At-Large Representative for the association’s Board of Directors, committees with THCA over the past several years including Membership Services, Government Relations, and Quality & Regulatory Affairs. He currently serves on THCA’s Board of Director’s and as a member of the board’s Executive Committee and is the current Secretary/Treasurer for the association. In 2013, Mr. Wright was selected to receive the Richard T. Sadler Distinguished Association Service Award for his dedication & outstanding service to the association and its ongoing efforts to continuously improve quality in Tennessee’s long term care facilities.
In June of 2010, Mr. Wright was appointed by the Governor of Tennessee to serve two consecutive terms on the state’s Health Services and Development Agency. The agency approves health care projects across the full continuum of health care in the state by working to assist in achieving the goals of the state’s health plan in conjunction with health care providers. Mr. Wright served as the representative for nursing homes on this agency until the expiration of his second term in 2016, while serving as the agency’s Vice-Chairman.
Mr. Wright keeps up-to-date with the changing healthcare environment by participating in various post-acute care committees sponsored by area hospitals and by attending continuing education healthcare programs annually.
